The Gospel

Simply put, The Gospel is good news! The good news is that the opportunity to be restored to our Creator has been extended to us. Due to our sin, we have been separated from a perfect and holy God. This perfect and holy God has required perfect obedience to His law, and yet we have all fallen far short of this perfect obedience, both in Adam and personally. Because of our sin, we deserve an eternal punishment.

You may be wondering where exactly the good news is in the midst of this tragedy. Entering this story of redemption is Jesus Christ. Jesus, being God, became man and in living a sinless life, dying a substitutionary death, and raising from the dead extended salvation to those who turn from their sin and embrace Christ in faith.

This good news extends beyond this initial interaction with Jesus Christ and becomes the basis for an ongoing walk with Jesus Christ.

Have you believed the truth about Jesus and His Gospel?

We encourage you to turn from your sin and embrace Christ today. Cornerstone Church is committed to an accurate and active proclamation of the truth of Christ in His glorious Gospel. Verses to Consider . . .

Isaiah 6:3 And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”

Matthew 5:48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Romans 3:10-23 10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; 11 no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” . . . 20 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it- 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

John 1:1-17 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men . . . 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth . . . 16 And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you – unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,

John 20:31 but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
